LGBT seniors are more likely to live in poverty than non-LGBT people their age, more likely to live alone, and four times less likely to have the support of children or other family members. By 2030 the number of LGBT seniors will be more than double the current estimate of two million.

A reduction or elimination of funding for programs like the Center’s that support much needed affordable housing for LGBT seniors, and vital social service programs that help sustain them, could have a devastating impact on people in our community who frequently have nowhere else to turn for support.
